Girls' Day Out

I decided to turn a day with a doctor's appointment into a day full o' fun for me and Carsyn. This is the first time that we have gone off this far on our own. That's mainly due to the flashbacks that I have of her scream-until-I-make-myself-sick car seat rides. None of those yesterday! She was so good. I guess it's time that I expect "good" instead of worrying about those fits since they are few and far between now :)

Casey brought her to Greenville to meet me and she was asleep and she slept all the way to Montgomery! After an appointment, we went to visit Mrs. Cathi and Aunt Peggy for their annual Christmas cookie baking. Mrs. Cathi is one of the sweetest ladies that I know! When I was in school at AUM, she opened her home to me and basically let me live with them while I had to be in Montgomery. She is just great...and that word is very insufficient! She will never know how much I appreciate what all she did for me! She and Aunt Peggy make the BEST M&M cookies (they are my favorite). I think what makes them so good is the perfect placement of the M&M's. I hear that is due to a little OCD. So, I was honored to get to place some of the M&Ms myself...she said that I did pretty good :)

Carsyn loved looking at the M&Ms :)

Mrs. Cathi also has a life-size Santa Claus in her house so we decided to take Carsyn's picture with Santa JUST IN CASE she doesn't get along with the real Ho-Ho!

When we got there, they were working on the other cookies, so Carsyn and I went to visit some of my former co-workers at Jackson Thornton and returned a little later for a warm M&M cookie. It was so good to see those people that I miss working with! I have to say...I don't miss the drive or the stress AT ALL. But, I do miss the people!

On a whim, I called Adrian, another friend that I used to work with and we met for an early dinner. She has a little boy a couple of weeks younger than Carsyn. He's such a cutie! And such a laid-back baby. Polar opposite of Carsyn. It's amazing to see the difference!

We left Montgomery about 6 and she slept all the way home :) Yay!

We have our Wilson family dinner Thursday night so I finished the night off with quite possibly the EASIEST. DESSERT. EVER! The hardest part? Unwrapping the kisses! (And not eating of them...that was pretty hard too...I wasn't too successful in that area) And, just in case you are wondering...they are YUMMYLICIOUS!

We just had the best day together being out and about visiting around! I finally feel like a "big girl" now that we have made this kind of trip with just the 2 of us :)

Love,
Lauren
