State Gymnastics Meet In All of Its Glory

We had a LONG weekend! LONG! Vicki, my sister-in-law, was gracious enough to tag along with me, mama and Carsyn to Tuscaloosa for the entire weekend to babysit Carsyn while Mama and I were in competition with the girls. We left about 11 on Friday and returned Sunday night around 6:00. Carsyn was a trooper! And, I was sooo glad to have her this weekend. When things got frustrating (and things did...see mama's blog - link below), she made it all better :)

I was going to go into detail about the weekend until Mama beat me to it.

Evidently, she can write even when she is exhausted.

I can't.

So...to hear her version (which is probably more accurate than I would put it :)), you can go here!

That part was easy!

Just a few things to say in reference to mama's post...

*Dear Coaches' Hospitality Room Preparers, you do have great culinary skills. I hope you enjoy using those skills. However, you can NEVER go wrong with chicken fingers, chips, normal cookies, brownies, etc. Keep it simple :)

*Dear Sweetest Young Man that took tried to take our order at Panera Bread, I'm sorry that I gave you a look of disgust, rolled my eyes and possibly took it out on you that you were out of YOUR SIGNATURE MAC-N-CHEESE. It just wasn't your day...could have been anybody. I do realize that it wasn't completely your fault.

*Dear Gracious Applebee's Waiter, I'm glad that you could accomodate us to some extent. You did pretty well. You could have gotten the bread out when we asked for it and you could have written down our order like we tried to hint that you should since we are so complicated. Had you done that, we would not have had to wait any longer to eat...but, that's not your fault either, I'm sure.

*Dear Sonic, just ridiculous. But, I am glad to know that you are keeping your machines clean. Maybe you should do it really close to closing time. But, I understand that most people do not crave ice cream on a 40 degree night. So, again, I take some responsibility even though most of it should go back to those Coaches' Hospitality Room Preparers :)

*Dear McDonald's, I thought you were my good luck charm...and I don't even like McDonald's. Really...tell me at the speaker thingy that you are out of what I want instead of letting me be excited that you have what I want then letting me down at the window. That way, you don't have to hear the whole spill about how you are the 47th person that does not have what I want. (And get an eye-rolling)

*Dear Vicki, I'm sorry you had to see me in my hungry mood. Actually, I'm sorry that I had to see me in my hungry mood. I'm not sure that I've ever been that hungry.

*For the record, I, the queen of U-turns, did not make those 7 U-turns. Mama did. I think she should have mentioned that :)

*Dear Husband, thank you for trying to make me some chicken and rice for supper. It's okay that you put way too much rice and it was a lot bit pasty...but, really...what was I to expect? Nothing worked all weekend...I had no expectations that it would be perfect. I love you anyway :)

It's Monday and I'm just not going to eat. That way, I'm not disappointed :)

I think that's all.

On another note...our gymnasts did great!!! Greenville Gymnastics was very well represented :) All of our girls did such a good job. The Level 3 team placed 11th out of 25 teams!!! They were only behind all of the big gyms in the state. We are so proud of them!

And...we have a State Champion!!! Congrats to Anna Blake Langford! 1st place All-Around at State! So exciting!

And I think I only have one picture. One of the girls from the very first session. I had great intentions of getting one of all of them. I don't think I ever picked up the camera again. Maybe I can bribe some out of the parents.

Off to a good week :)

Lauren
