The good news is…my toenails are all one color now! I accomplished that while Carsyn was in the bath tub playing with her new bath tub paint the other day. AND I have cooked TWO nights in a row! This cooking and eating thing had gotten so bad that Carsyn starting calling Granny (David’s mama) “Nummy Granny.” I guess we said, “Do you want to go to Granny’s and get some nummy” so many times that she just named her Nummy Granny. We can turn on their drive way and she will scream “Nummy Granny!!” I, of course, can’t take ALL of the credit for cooking. Mama just made a menu for me and made my grocery list from that. I never have lists. I never have time to make a list. This was the quickest grocery shopping trip ever! Carsyn even went with me Saturday morning and we were gone less than an hour total! No Walmart…thank God! I’ve probably mentioned before that Carsyn is a terrible shopping partner. Saturday morning, she was an angel. She sat in the buggy (unheard of) and swung her little legs and talked to me the whole time. As long as she could have the little box of popcorn beside her, she was just fine! I was so proud of her! And so proud of me for actually going :) (David was too…)
The house phone…still no luck. Proof that we don’t need it anyway, right?!
A couple of weekends ago, Vicki, Grace, Carsyn and I headed down to the beach. We had a great day! Carsyn loved it just as much if not more than last year! It was a perfect day!
We finally found some "da-dops" that are small enough for her feet!!!
Sunday, we made a quick trip for spring pictures! She was so funny with the bunny!
Precious girls! The one of the very right...mama says God has placed her where she is in my life to prepare me for what is to come. She says I am going to be going through the exact same thing with Carsyn in a short few years! This little girl is a mess! So sweet!
Grace and her bling!
Saturday, Carsyn and I played outside ALL DAY LONG! It was GORGEOUS weather! Later she traded us in for Nummy Granny and Granddaddy. Actually, she brought me her clothes and shoes and told me she wanted to go see them. So we did. I left her there to go get a shower and when we went back to get her to go out to eat, we put her in her carseat, headed down the dirt road and David looked at her and said, “What’s wrong with her?!” I turned around to see. She was pouting! Lips poked out, eyes full of water and head hung. Pouting!!! The problem? Nummy Granny had cooked her some doodles (noodles)
It makes it so much easier to enjoy time alone or time with David when she actually asks to go stay with people and she is content! We are finally getting to that point :)
Sunday, we drove BACK to Tuscaloosa for 12 hours of gymnastics and got back home about 10:30. It was a bittersweet day…it was my Ash’s last competition :( More on that later…it deserves a whole post.
For now, I hope to have more weekends spent like last Saturday and the one before…the beach, outside with bubbles, jumping on the trampoline and digging in the dirt :) I think I’ll even throw that grocery store trip in there weekly as long as they continue to go like the last one :)
I almost forgot! Grace won her pageant! She was just gorgeous! But the best part was when David was telling her that he was “tickled for her,” she said, “Uncle David! Why are you so tickled??” He said, “because you won! That’s awesome!” She said, “But, Uncle David, winning isn’t the important part. I had fun!” The other thing said when she came off stage was, “Well, I guess it works. Whoever bees the quietest back stage will win. I just bee’d quiet!”
Carsyn says:
Have a good day!
and...
Live life on the edge! That's where I found her this morning anyway...
