We've been on the run the last few weekends. Two weekends ago, we were in Perdido Key for a conference. The next weekend, Labor Day Weekend, we were in Destin with David's side of the family for a vacation and this past weekend, we were back in Orange Beach for a gymnastics meet. We have another meet this weekend closer to home then we finally have a free weekend after that! I'm so excited about having nothing to do!
Updates on Carsyn...
Car-baby is 15 months old today. We had to go to the doctor the other day because she got the crud during that weather change. She weighed 19 pounds. We will see later this month where she is on the charts now.
She has developed quite the personality! She is so funny when she gets in a group of people. She just walks up to anybody and dances for them, talks to them or just tilts her head and smiles so sweetly.
She learned to shake her booty the other night and it is so funny! When I catch it on camera, I will post a video of it :)
I can't get her to talk. She has a few words that she says from time to time but she just won't try to repeat everything. I know I'm not supposed to worry...she will talk when she gets ready, but, gosh darn-it, I want to hear her!!! I talked to the doctor and she said that it is nothing to worry with. She understands everything we are saying. She will do anything you ask her to do...down to very detailed instructions. She tells us what she needs or wants...just without the words. Her yes and no nods are very clear. And I know it's not a hearing problem because I can whisper "go get your yellow crocs" and she runs to the other end of the house to find them and bring them to me. I'm trying to be patient. I know it will seem like only a few more days and I will wonder what in the world I was ever worried about. (After I wrote this, she started repeating da-DA on request...this is progress :))
She's become a little gym baby. She comes to the gym lots of afternoons. She actually walks on the low beam better than some of our preschoolers and she LOVES to get out on the floor when I turn the music on for the floor routines and dance around. The funniest thing is that the team girls have become so accustom to her being there that they just either work their routines around her or they just go ahead with whatever they are doing knowing that I will grab her out of the way.
On the nights that I do stay at the gym later and she stays home with her daddy, I will come in and she will latch those little legs around me, lay her head on my shoulder and pat my back with that sweet little hand for a good 5 minutes.
A few weeks ago, she fell off the bed. Again. That was the last time. We have rearranged our room and the matress is now on the floor. She can still fall of, but it's only 6 inches. It's the best sleep...I don't worry one bit about where she is during the night.
When she's going to sleep, she has developed the need to DIG her hands under somebody...usually me. It doesn't matter how often I clip those little finger nails...I think they are just as long the next day. I think she's digging for blood...
She is so hung up on the song, "This Little Light of Mine." It really needs more than 4 verses. We sing it all the time. Constantly. Whoever is keeping her sings it all the time. Constantly. It is never ending. If she puts her finger in the air and starts dancing it around, you might as well sing. Last night on the way home from Greenville, I sang it for 17 minutes then I kept my finger up and started singing something else. She hollered at me. I switched back and she was just as happy as could be.
But, I'll sing it a million times if that's what she wants :)
