Mother's Day 2011

I had such a great first Mother's Day with the exception of Carsyn not feeling well.

She started having a clear runny nose Friday night...mattered eyes and a green runny nose Saturday and Sunday. Monday, she couldn't open her eyes. A quick doctor's visit revealed a case of Pink Eye in both eyes, an upper respiratory infection and an ear infection. She was able to open her eyes this morning, so we are definitely on the mend!

Poor Baby :(

Saturday, David spent the day fishing at the river. I spent the day tending to an already-demanding-and-more-demanding-when-sick baby. I know I didn't even get a shower and I can't recall getting to brush my teeth. He had lots of making up to do Sunday.

He got off to a good start by getting up at midnight when Carsyn cried out. If I get up and get her, she thinks she must eat. He got her and she went right back to sleep! I got to sleep all night!!! His Mother's Day favor has now turned into an every night event. He helped me prove my point (that Carsyn is not hungry at night) without realizing it. He didn't realize what he was getting himself into :) Oh well! He did the same thing Sunday night and it worked again!

Sunday morning, he cooked me breakfast...my choice and, of course, my favorite :) Hocakes and chocolate syrup! I know...some of you have never heard of that...but it is to DIE FOR if you are a chocolate lover!

THEN, I got to get a LONG shower and brush my teeth :) That, along with the tree that David and Carsyn gave me made me plenty happy! We had lunch with David's family and completely forgot to take his mom's gift...c'est la vie. Then, all of us took Mama out to Cracker Barrell to eat. Note to self: probably not a good idea to take Carsyn out to eat when she is sick. We all survived. Enough said.

I thank God every day for the opportunity to be a mommy. It is, by all means, the most awesome feeling ever and one of the highest honors we could receive!

Hope all you mommys out there had a wonderful day!
