San Francisco

This is long overdue...

Back during the summer, my annual accounting conference for cooperatives was held in San Francisco! Sounded like fun so mama jumped on board. I debated and debated and went back and forth and back and forth about taking Carsyn with us and in the end, she stayed with her daddy. Karissa was gracious enough to keep her while David was at work and he had her the rest of the time. I could not have made a better decision. That is the first time since she was born that we have been away from each other for more than a night. Girl ADORES her daddy, but she is very much a mommy's baby...which is awesome. But what would is more awesome? The fact that I can now go to the bathroom by myself now and she is perfectly content with daddy! I guess it took her completely relying on him for 6 whole days to realize that he is capable of doing (almost) everything that mommy does :)

Anyway, mama and I had a fantastic trip to San Francisco! The weather was to die for...or so mama thought. I had my North Face with me the whole time, so I was perfectly content too! There is SO much to do in just a small area. Our days were packed with sight-seeing and my classes!

This is how I left her clothes. Not for Karissa (I made sure she knew that), but for David. You would be amazed at the outfits that Carsyn and David, together, can come up with! I even labeled the pajamas for him :)

The atrium of our hotel. It was huge. Actually, I think it's the largest in the country.

The Embarcadero Center. We were right across the street from this and the "Market Place" was set up in the area. Very neat!

The amazing waterfall structure in front of our hotel...Mama was loving the weather!

Beautiful shot of the Embarcadero Center

The Hyatt

After talking to the concierge and several visitors that we ran into, we decided to take the "Open Top Bus Tour" so we could get a glimpse at the whole city. There were over 20 stops and you could get on and off and stay as long as you wanted and just hop back on a bus when you were ready to go!

I thought the sign on this restaurant was funny when I noticed it. Then the tour guide started telling us that they even have garlic flavored ice cream!!! YUCK!!!!

In honor of the earthquake victims.

City Hall...embellished with 14 karat gold leaves! We learned that it is against the law for any state to have a dome larger than the USA's capital dome. The tour guide explained how San Francisco prides themselves on being "different" (and that, it is) so they said since they aren't a state, they can build a dome larger the the one in Washington...and that they did.

The Golden Gate Bridge. There was only one day while we were there that the fog wasn't covering some of the bridge!

Fisherman's Wharf was a really neat area! Lots to do...shopping, food, etc.

The sea lions were all over the place!

Alcatraz Island

Look familiar?? Full House used to be one of my favorite shows, so I thought this was really neat :)

The park that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen took there first steps while filming Full House!

The "Full House" house!

China Town

One of the neatest sights was Lombard Street! The crookedest street in the world!

Walking down the street.

Very hard to capture what it was really like...how steep and crooked it is! This was the best I could do!

No fog on the last day :)

Not the sugary white sand that we are used to :)

We had such a great time! You would think as close as mama and I live together and work at the gym together and the fact that she keeps Carsyn that we would get to "see" each other a lot and talk...but that is far from the case! We just pass each other all the time! We had lots of conversations and made memories to last a lifetime! Thanks for going, Mama!
