A Much Needed Break

I am fortunate enough to have a boss that is understanding and was totally okay with me "just needing some down time at home with Carsyn." I was at a good point at work, board meeting wasn't until the next week and it just seemed like the perfect time...so, when I left the office last Monday, I wasn't going back...ALL WEEK! Better than that, though, neither was I packing up to go on a big trip. I just wanted to be home and be with Carsyn...whether we did anything or nothing. That time is so precious to me. Unfortunately, I miss a lot of that time while at work so I took full advantage of it while I was off.

I slept in with her every morning. We might or might not have gotten a little house work done. We made a couple of trips to town..by ourselves!!! Carsyn hasn't been easy to run to town and get a few things at Walmart with...but we will master this! She actually sat in the buggy the whole time with her little can of cheese curls (of course I didn't go after anything that I couldn't grab her and leave without). That trip went so well that we got up the next morning and headed to Montgomery shopping the next day! It was a successful trip believe it or not! We made it to all of the stores I had in mind and by to see Pop Pop at his office and got a nice 2 hour nap on the way home. Thank you, road construction.

Ready to go shopping!

One day, we might have stayed in our pajamas all day long...but, there's nothing wrong with that, right?!

Killing some jelly toast.

I might have napped with her a couple of those days or I might have just held her and watched her nap :)

By the end of the week, this is what I had figured out. A friend once asked me if I thought we would have "jobs" in Heaven. My answer...absolutely...but there will be no job that takes a mother away from her babies any more than she wants.

Oh how I wish I could be with her all the time and I am ever so thankful for a workplace that believes in the importance of family and at least lets me "pretend" to be a stay-at-home-mom every once in a while :)
